Hi, I am that girl 👇 with the dad problems. I am happy to say that I did some of your suggestions and we are okay now. I loved the 1 hour rule, and we are obeying that now. We are still butting heads sometimes, but we work it out now. I am happy to say you have restored my faith and relationship with my father. I can't tell you how grateful I am. You saved my softball career. Thank you. 💖

Q
Hi, I play travel and rec softball. If my team lose a game, my dad always says stuff like "you should have pitched better" and "you need to work on your hitting." And I listen, but he doesn't think I do because I don't say things back like "okay I will". All I do is nod. So basically me and my dad fight about softball all the time to the point to where I end of crying and won't speak to him. I feel like I am crying over softball more than I am enjoying it. Any suggestion on how to please my dad?

Sorry to hear about that:( I see this a lot with parenting trying to over rule softball. Don’t cry it’s supposed to be the sport you love so don’t let anybody ruin that. I suggest telling your dad that your trying your hardest and letting him know how it makes you feel when you guys fight. Another thing my team does is the 1 hour rule. Parents aren’t allowed to talk about the game for an hour afterwards so you have time to cool off. If you had a bad game I’m sure you’re feeling bad enough the last thing you need is a parent trying to down grade everything you do. Just try talking it out with him, let me know how it goes:)
